Turkey Day

Lilli made it for Thanksgiving!! I love having all my kids under the same roof! And you can tell by the sleeping arrangement that I'm not the only one that has missed her.

I love that my family gets together for holidays. It give the grandkids cousin time.

9 of the grandkids were able to make it for dinner.

Grit got some time with Uncle Matt.

Boone is just like my sister, DJ. He sleeps with his eyes open.

I love that they just pile on top of each other all the time.

And pretend to be sleeping to avoid pictures.

Fright Night

Duke found a cat skull outside.

Such a perfect find on halloween!

For costumes, Duke was willing to wear his Army guy suit again. He kept saying he already wore it for preschool so he needed a new costume, but in the end, he put it on.

Hoss is getting to the stage where dressing up is a bore. So we convinced him that being a farmer wouldn't be so bad. He humored us and went with it, not sure how much longer he will.

Then we got a big surprise when we received this picture of Lilli dressed up. Makes my heart happy!

Piano Recital

I got an email from Gabe yesterday with this attached. I'm so excited for her, but sad that we didn't know about it. We would have loved to have been there in person. Oh well, hopefully next time.

Sexy Farmer was put in charge of the saw competition at the Pioneer Day celebration for church. His group included the Deacons, so he had the boys make the stands at mutual one day and then also paint these saw blades gold. I cut up some vinyl and attached it to the blades, then Sexy Farmer cut some holes in some wood for some first place trophies for each category. Child team - age 12 and younger, then the Youth Team - ages 12-18, and and Adult team - age 18+.

Sexy Farmer teamed up with his cousin Beaver.

Their first time was 34 seconds, with put them in first place.

Lilli teamed up with her friend Kendell.

They were so cute, but didn't quite have a time to make it to the finals.

Hoss wanted to take a turn too, so he found a partner and they did really well.

They actually made it three rounds but got beat out in the semi finals and ended up 2nd place for their age group. I was so pleased that he never gave up!

Sexy Farmer and Beaver got another go around also.

But in the end, they got beat out by a set of brother-in-laws and a couple of teenagers and got third place.

Lilli's Birthday

Lilli turned 14! Crazy! We had the hardest time thinking of things to give her for her birthday. Hoss decided she needed books. His school library was going through some cleaning and they had a table where you could take 2 books home a day for free. So, every day for a week, he would bring home books for her birthday. We then embroidered her a beach towel and painted the mirror in her bedroom so it would match.

Duke then took it upon himself to make sure she got all 14 of her birthday spankings.

We really miss having her around every day. The boys are always asking when she will come back and why she likes it in Utah better. Those are hard questions to answer. But, when she is here, we try to make the best of it and enjoy her as much as possible.

Kid's Pictures

Since Lilli is homeschooled, Boone & Duke arne't in school and I had such trouble with Lifetouch last year, I opted for another route when it came time to renew the kids pictures. I asked one of my friends to take them for me. For some reason, she'll never let me pay her.

This picture cracks me up. He makes this face a lot.

I'm excited that I can now update my wall.

Sadest Day Ever

Yesterday, Lilli decided she wants to try living with her Dad. Being divorced, you always know this day will come. The day your child wants to live with the other parent. I'm excited for her, but hurt for our family. I just want her to be happy, and if this is what she wants, I need to support her. Her brothers are having a hard time with it, but she insists she will Skype them.

We met her dad in Utah and stopped on our way back in Twin Falls to see the temple. It's so beautiful at night. The lights sure have a way of making it shine.

Birdhouses

For Lilli's Home Life class, one of the projects was to build a birdhouse. They provided the plans, which ended up being a complete birdhouse made from a single board. It happened to be perfect because one of Hoss' Tiger Cub electives is also to build a birdhouse. First they got their board and started marking their cut lines.

Then Sexy Farmer helped them trim the wood.

Hoss and Lilli each made their own, but had to borrow the hammer.

Then Lilli got her turn to nail hers all together.

Complete.

Lilli didn't want a stand for the birds, so hopefully they can still get inside.

School Projects

Lilli is enrolled in two fun classes. First is called Home Life, it is pretty much like a Home Ec. class. The second is an Arts & Crafts club. She's been making some pretty fun projects, here are a few from both classes.
