We actually got to celebrate Sexy Farmer's birthday on his real birthday this year! Last year, his brother Shane got married that day, so Sexy Farmer kind of got over looked. He wanted new tires for his pickup as his gift, but since I couldn't really wrap that, Duke and I set out for the store to get him a few small items that he could open, because what's a birthday without opening at least one gift?!
He did get the new tires for his pickup though. I don't see any difference, it must be a guy thing.
He asked for a German Chocolate cake with Pecan frosting, so that's what I made for him. His birthday fell on a Sunday, so after church we all let him nap until he couldn't nap any more. I had planned to write down 33 things that I love about him since he turned 33, but I'm too busy packing for our trip to his sister's wedding. Maybe next year.

A New School Year
School started last week and so far, the kids are enjoying themselves. Hoss kept saying the sun was in his eyes, so he wasn't very cooperative for a first day of school picture.
Lilli is a 7th grader with her first male teacher, Mr. Sheidegger. They are reading White Fang, and she's excited that she's learning 8th grade math this year.
Hoss is in 1st Grade with Mrs. Chambers for Reading and Math, and Mrs. Akers for everything else. His speech is doing much better, but he will continue his therapy once a week starting soon. He met a new friend named Clayton, that he says is EXACTLY like him. They both like tractors, wear the same pants, and shirts. They both have tractor lunch boxes, and both wear hats & boots. It's been fun seeing him so excited to ride the bus just to see his friend.

32 Weeks
I had an ultrasound today at my 32 week appointment. He looks exactly like Duke! He is in the transverse position so they'll do another ultrasound in the next few weeks to make sure he turns. My iron is the highest it's ever been while pregnant. I'm hoping this will be the first pregnancy that I won't need iron infusions, that would be great news! I better keep eating my greens!

Family Sealings
Tonight we had the opportunity to Seal my Dad to his parents for time and all eternity. My sister Kimberly mentioned a few months ago that she would be coming to visit in August, so I got to work making sure I had most of our closest family's temple work done so that we could seal them all at the same time.
My dad invited some of his friends to witness the even too, The Shelton's and Dave Hyde, two of his former co-workers. After the temple, we met up with my other sister, DJ and her husband, Cory, to eat dinner in celebration of the event. What a wonderful event to finally have made happen.

YW Challenge
A few weeks ago I challenged the girls in my class at church to do some family history work and then we would go to the temple. Well, only one of my girls did the challenge, so today I took her to Boise to the temple to perform the work for those ancestors she found.
Her grandmother helped her with the research and they came up with 10 women. The temple was so busy that she was only able to do the work for 5 of them, but I guess that just means we have to go back again, right? I'm so proud of Amanda and that she accepted this challenge. It was so neat to see her so excited and proud of herself for doing the work.
I also took Lilli and our neighbor boy with us too, to do some of my family names.

Hoss Turns 6!
Hoss was super excited for his birthday to roll around. He had everything planned out, where we would eat (Texas Roadhouse so he could ride on the saddle), who would give him what gifts (trains set from grandparents), and what kind of cake he wanted (Chocolate, just like Duke had). We had to tone him down so Sexy Farmer had a long talk with him about gifts and such. It was a good learning experience.
He grew 2 1/2 inches since his last birthday.
He didn't get any of the gifts he told us he wanted, but he was really happy with what he did get. Good thing we had that talk!
We didn't eat where he wanted either, but we did eat at his 2nd choice, Fiesta Guadalajara where, the workers know us so well, we don't even need to tell them what we want to order, they already know. The workers sang to him and he got his chocolate cake, but not just like Duke's.
Then he opened gifts from grandparents and Aunt DJ & Uncle Cory. And Yellow Grandpa & Grandma got him a train, just like he asked them to.

Outside Fun
We drove to Nyssa the other day to look at a tractor blade and saw this massive loader at Sparks Auction, so we had to stop and get a closer look. As I was uploading the pictures to the computer Hoss noticed Duke in the tire for the first time.
Our apricot tree was ready to pick, but we waited too long again this year and only got a few, which were so ripe the smashed at the slightest touch. But I love them so much, Sexy Farmer was willing to let me hoist him (and Hoss) up and pick some. He is so good to me.
Duke got to stay on the ground and wait for falling fruit.
Hoss helped Blue Grandpa bale hay.
And the boys had a campout in the backyard. They loved it.
