Like Father, Like Son

Hoss really likes to go to work with Sexy Farmer, can you tell?

How about now?

Duke and I decided we would tag along this time, too.  He thought the dirt tasted pretty good off the floor of the pick-up.

I love watching Hoss work, it's a serious joy.  No whining, moping along, or anything else.  Just hard work, straight from an excited, eager, wanting to learn, 5 year old.

I also love the patience Sexy Farmer has with Hoss.  He's also just as excited, eager, and willing to teach, said 5 year old.

This one can't wait to get out there and learn too.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was great.  The kids spoiled me with gifts all week, making things for me at school and church.

Lilli made me a Sundae of Bath Salts and a Loufa during Activity Days.  Then at school they made an art project from tape and food coloring.

Hoss came home from school with the yellow paper and bookmark.  The flower, stem and dirt was made with their fingertips.  Then the brown page, and necklace is what he made at church.  He was very proud when I wore the necklace during church.

Duke also made me a gift during church.  Look at those tiny hand prints!  Adorable!

My mom is on a cruise, so I didn't get to wish her a happy mother's day, and we spent the whole day before with Sexy Farmer's mom at the wedding, so our day was spent staying home and enjoying each other.  It was nice and relaxing.

Karina's Wedding

Sexy Farmer's little sister, Karina, just got married on Saturday in Twin Falls, Idaho.  My amazing sister, DJ, let our kids spend Friday night at her house!  I seriously have the BEST sister ever!  We dropped the kids off around 8:30-9pm, then headed to Twin Falls to spend the night.  We checked into our hotel around 12:30am, and set our alarms bright and early for 5am that way we could attend the 7am session before the wedding.  Sexy Farmer kind of moaned and groaned at me, but since I have 300+ family names, we need to attend the temple as often as possible now!

With that said, we got up, and attended the 7am session, and it was a good thing too.  Just as I was walking out of the Celestial Room, into the women's dressing room, the Bridal Room was right there.  I peaked in to see if his sister was there yet.  I saw my mother-in-law, so I waved and then went to change my clothes.  After changing, I headed back to the bride's room, peaked at Karina's wedding dress, and chatted with my mother-in-law for a few minutes.  Karina wasn't there yet, but arrived shortly after.  I didn't want to intrude, so I left to find Sexy Farmer.

As my father-in-law, myself, and Sexy Farmer, were sitting in the waiting room, my mother-in-law came in and said we had a problem.  Karina forgot her temple dress in her fiance's car.  We had no idea where her fiance was, and their car was locked.  She didn't want to wear her wedding dress for the sealing, so I offered up my temple dress.  It actually ended up being a good thing that I made Sexy Farmer attended the 7am session, or else she wouldn't have had a dress to wear.  I ran back inside the temple, and gave her my dress, she put it on and then we laughed, her slip was hanging down way past the dress, so I grabbed my slip and she borrowed that too.

The sealing was beautiful.  I love attending temple sealings so that I can hear the counsel that the Sealer gives.  This one was no different.  It always reminds me how important marriage is, and how important my spouse is.  After the sealing, we waited for the newly married couple to make their first appearance.

And here they are!  Mr. & Mrs. Eric Baird.

His and her families.

With the in-laws, aka, me, the big pregnant lady, and nieces and nephews.

They were trying to take a picture of his niece and nephew with the couple, so I decided to take a picture of the temple.  It's so pretty.

The sibling pictures just keep getting smaller and smaller.  Well, this one is bigger than the last wedding, which was Shane's (only us and Karina were there), but it's still missing 3 siblings.
The photographer kept telling Sexy Farmer that his blue tie was ruining her pictures.  Their wedding colors were apparently purple and silver, but we never got that memo, so we just wore whatever we had.  After hearing the photographer say it about 5 times, Sexy Farmer borrowed a tie from Eric's brother for the sibling pictures.  Sexy Farmer's other sister, Megan, is getting married in September.  She's the last sibling to get married, and she's also the oldest.  We are super excited for her and can't wait for her wedding.

Last Sunday in Primary

Today was Lilli's last Sunday in Primary.  She will turn 12 on the 23rd of this month, and will be gone this weekend with her dad.  She had memorized all 13 Articles of Faith, and when the kids do that, the Primary Presidency makes them a cake.

Zoo Boise

Hoss' class went on a field trip to Zoo Boise yesterday, so I decided that Duke and I should go too.  We followed the bus over and tagged along with his group.  Duke loved to pet the goats.

Hoss saw this giraff slide through the fence on our way to the front entrance.  He was very excited when we finally got there.

Then we saw a real giraff!

And of course you can't go to Zoo Boise without taking a picture with the prairie dogs.  We got lucky and one was right on top of the window while Hoss was inside.

Hoss wasn't very good at listening to his leader, or staying with his group.  When he got home he had to write an apology letter to her.  Hopefully he will get better at that.

Spring Time

I'm so excited that spring time is here.  The flowers are blooming and smelling so good.  I love lilac bushes, so I'm really glad that my house has three huge ones.

While I was off smelling the flowers, I turned around to find Duke climbing the monkey bars!  When did he learn this?  SCARY!
He now has to be watched like a hawk.

I apologize for the lack of blogging, I have two major things going on.  First, we are in the middle of an IRS tax audit for the year 2011.  They have us earning over $109,000 in unreported income.  That was the year we sold our stacker and house, so the money was just being transferred from one account to another, but for some reason we have to show and highlight all of the bank statements for the entire year proving it.  Crazy.  Anyway, I'm hoping this will only last another couple weeks, then be over with.  Audits suck.

Second, I have become seriously addicted to the church's new family search site.  I have entered 300+ family names into the system.  My dad is a convert to the church, so we have all of this family to enter.  My sister, Nikki, has already entered a bunch of direct lines, but I started entering my grandparent's siblings, their kids, their in laws, etc.  It all started because our ward has said that for youth temple trips we need to supply our own names from now on.  So, I started out just trying to find 10 for Lilli to take, but then ended up finding so much more.  My dad's family has a lot of their roots planted in Payette County, Idaho, and their website is AMAZING for genealogy.  They have everything on line for public access; marriage records, death records, cemetery burials and obituaries.  So with that website, as well as findagrave.com, I have been able to find and enter loads of families into the system for temple work.  It's seriously addicting.

However, it ends up that Lilli won't be here for our next youth temple trip, so my niece, Amber, said she would take her place.  But, since I have so many names now, I too, will perform some of the ordinances during the youth trip.  I'm really excited, it's going to be nice to do this for my grandma.  Thanks Nikki for not doing it yourself so many years ago!  hehehe
