Monthly Scripture Hero - Abinadi

March's Scripture Hero was Abinadi.  The trait for the month was "Courage" and the requirements were..

1. Memorize Mosiah 17:9

2. Make a good choice - even if it's hard to do.

3. Watch chapter 14 of the illustrated Book of Mormon.

4. I challenge myself to...
Hoss - NO pestering for 1 week.  He had great motivation for this one because he was invited to go on a backpacking trip during spring break and we told him that as long as he finished his challenge, he could go.
Duke - not make messes for the fun of it.
Boone - work on speaking kindly.

What they learned about Abinadi...
Hoss - He would stand up for the truth and he would rather die than tell a lie.
Duke - He was good, super strong and he died telling the truth.

Easter

We spent Saturday at my parent's house having an Easter Egg Hunt.  My mom has saved plastic eggs for years, so it's always fun to be able to find so many.
DJ joined us and she always brings goodies for the kids.  Look at their egg antennas!  She's such a fun Aunt.

For my class and Sexy Farmer's class, I decided to make some edible empty tombs for the kids.  They were fun and super easy to make.
Then my sister-in-law, Heidi, had to show me up.  Look what she made for all the kids in her nursery!  She's such a talented seamstress!

Backpacking Trip

Hoss was recently invited to go on a backpacking trip over spring break.  Sexy Farmer was initially going to go as well, but he had too much spraying to attend to, so he stayed behind.  We found a kid sized pack at the used scout store in Nampa and it worked great for Hoss.
I was nervous sending him.  He's never done anything like that before.  He would have to man-up and carry his pack the entire time.  20+ miles.  But, he braved it.  They reported that he was strong and never whined.  He was also in charge of cooking his own meals, which they said he did great with.  They had to help him once when he ran out of propane, but other than that all reports from them were good. Hoss said that he really enjoyed the trip.  He had forgotten his fishing pole back in the vehicle, so he wasn't able to fish while they stopped at a river.  But, he had a great time, and I'm glad he had the opportunity.

Ward Baptism Towels

In February I spoke to the Primary President and offered to make all the kids in our Ward baptism towels.  She thought that would be a great idea, and it was perfect timing too because the first baptism was going to be that weekend.  I sent a text to all the mom's asking what their child's favorite color was so I could try and make it a bit more special.  We have 7 kids total in our ward.  It was also the weekend that we were leaving to go to my nephew, Dustin's, baptism so the Primary President said she would only need Kesley's by the weekend.  Well, I figured I would just do them all so I wouldn't have to remember.  Then, the morning that we were getting ready to leave, Hoss mentioned that Bailey, the daughter of one of Sexy Farmer's cousins and also a girl in his class, was getting baptized that day too.  So, I sent Lacy, Bailey's mom, a text and asked if her ward was doing towels.  She said no, so I told her how Hoss wanted me to make one for her.  She mentioned that Claire, another one of Sexy Farmer's cousin's kids, was also getting baptized that day and she would like to purchase one for her.  Well, that was just silly, so of course said no, but that I would make her one.  So, that morning, I hurried and made 2 more towels.  We dropped off Bailey and Claire's at the Sheriff's Office with Claire's dad, and then all the ones for my ward at the parts store for our Primary President to pick up later after she got off work, then we hit the road to Rigby.
A few days ago, I got asked if I would make baptism towels for the other ward.  Of course I said yes.  They got me the kids favorite colors, and I was surprised because the color pink was next to a boy name.  I verified that the correct color was listed and even talked to the mom to try and make sure I got a "manly" pink for him.  I love the way they all turned out.

More Dance

Daphne had another dance competition, this time in Nampa.  The boys were excited to go this time.  We picked up some balloons and headed to the show.  It's so fun to watch her.  And again, she did amazing.

Lucky Hunt

The annual St. Patrick's Day treasure hunt happened again this year.
They look forward to this with much anticipation.  They love their green goodies at the end of the rainbow.  I need to plan better.  It seems holidays sneak up on me so fast that I'm always scavenging the night before.  Need to work on that.

Grit - 3 Months

Weight - 12.6 lbs
Height - 23.75 inches
Head Circumference - 15.75 inches

Where do I start??  Grit is heaven on earth.  He eats, drools, sleeps, snuggles, smiles, and loves us all.  He is the perfect baby.  Boone is still joining us for most every nursing session so I'm getting used to nursing and holding a toddler at the same time.  He still blesses me by sleeping through scouts and he only wakes up once to eat during the night.  He still really hates tummy time, and I'm horrible because I don't put him down very often, so he's not rolling or anything yet.  I just love his snuggles too much.
