More August

Summer is at an end and we aren't too excited about it.  This is pretty much all we see of Brandon these days...

But when he's not doing that, he's helping others.  This day, he went to help a family get their pigs ready for fair.

Or he's at his dad's shop working on things.  He took Duke with him this day.  He's getting big enough to drive the small 4 wheeler.  This is one reason we are looking at maybe the idea of purchasing a farm.  So he would be able to spend what little time he does have, in a shop at our own home.  That may give us more time together as a family.  We shall see.

He also took a couple days and went to Rigby again to help my sister move.  He's amazing like that.

I on the other hand, spent some time sewing.  My sister sent me the picture on the right, asking if I could make something like that for her son to hold his Cub Scout Awards.  He's not a belt wearer.  I came up with the picture on the left.  Hopefully it works.

I also went to my aunt's house in Weiser and picked some fruit.
I love nectarines!

Hoss' speech teacher at school broker her ipad case.  Hoss told her that his dad can fix anything, and brought it home.  I got a text from her saying that she didn't want to break his heart by not letting him take it home, but that she indeed did not expect us to fix it.  Well, Brandon is busy this time of year, and completely forgot.  Hoss reminded him one day, and then we realized it was her birthday.  So, Hoss wrote this little note and we took her the case back, fixed.  She then sent me this text, saying that she is going to keep it on her fridge to remind her of Hoss.

Monthly Scripture Hero - Samuel

August's Scripture Hero was Samuel.  The trait for the month was "Testify" and the requirements were..

1. Memorize Helaman 14:8

2. Help others choose the right by being a good example this week.

3. Watch chapter 40 of the illustrated Book of Mormon.

4. I challenge myself to...
Everyone - Be a good example to your brothers.

What they learned about Samuel...
Hoss - He did not get hit by any arrows, the Lord was watching over him.
Duke - He climbed high on the city wall.  No arrows could hit him.  He told the people when Christ would be born.

Idaho Approved

Brandon is officially licensed in the state of Idaho!  How exciting!  Living so close to the border of Oregon and Idaho, many of his clients have ground in both states, he is now legal to kill in both states!

Worker Bees

I am so proud of these boys!  They worked their tails off getting our corn in the freezer. They all chipped in to help, never asked how much longer, or to go play somewhere else.  They stayed until the job was done, with smiles on their faces!
Even this one.  He was on Tess duty.

Add Another Candle

Brandon is one year wiser!  I love this man!  We opted for a cookie cake this year, and he loved it!
Birthday spankings are our favorite!  We love Brandon so much and are lucky that we get to have him in our lives.  We wish we had more time with him this time of year, but during the winter we will snuggle him like crazy!

3rd Grade

Third Grade!!  We ran down to the school to see who Hoss' teacher would be.  He is on the class list for Mrs. Camp.

He was really excited to have some of his friends in his class again.  It's going to be a great year!

#UrbanDossWed

We had the opportunity to attend the wedding of one of our high school classmates, Scott Doss.  It was a beautiful wedding in the mountains outside of Pocatello, Idaho.

They had great food, and a dance.  We needed to get back to our other kids, so we didn't stay too late.
We got this picture from my sister.  Duke doesn't look to excited. HA!

Bear World

As many times as we've been in the Rexburg/Rigby, Idaho area we have never been in the summer.  We always go during the winter when Bear World is closed.  But this time, we are here and decided it was time to go!  We saw an albino elk, which was pretty cool.
Lots of bears!  So up close, just everywhere!

After taking the driving tour, we hit up the rides.

It was such a beautiful day.  The boys were well behaved, which makes outings pleasurable!

We then headed over to the petting zoo type area. Tons of ducks, and even a few gorgeous swans.

And even a deer that lets you get up close and personal!

Farm Owners??

We started looking at farms to buy.  Are we ready for this step? Such a huge investment.  The boys need chores, a place to roam, explore, and play. It would be nice to have Brandon be able to bring his truck home to our own house.  It may just be a dream, we shall see....

Kiddie Pulls

Brandon took the boys to the Malheur County Fair to watch the tractor pull competitions.  During intermission, they let all the kids come down to the arena for a little fun!  Boone couldn't really touch the peddles.

Duke was fast!

And Hoss was a bit too big.  Reminds me of the story of the three little bears.

They each got a goodie bag and certificate, highlight of their day!
